Derrick Paris (fluid) is an LA Native Dancer, Choreographer, Filmmaker & Music Producer that found their love for the arts at the young age of 6. They graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a BFA in Dance in 2021 & he has had the pleasure of working alongside many artists such as Rebecca Lemme, Keith Johnson, Karen McDonald and Andrew Vaca. In 2015, Derrick was Assistant Choreographer for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of The Special Olympics alongside Debbie Allen. At the age of 13, he began his Choreographer and Coaching work throughout the Los Angeles area, in addition to creating & directing De Lux Drill Team. Recently, he has started to assist in Choreography and lead in Music Editing for dance teams in both the Collegiate and Pro Team worlds. His competitive, stage and screen work has earned local & national recognition as well as premiering on The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. His current focus is rooted in the research of discovering the intersectionality of his upbringing alongside his unearthing as an adult. They plan to continue producing work through this new virtual lens, while generating platforms for themself and dancers alike to be visible.
