Lu Ordman “LORDMAN” is an international educator and multi-disciplinary artist with a passion for intercultural connection, experiential learning, and creative expression. Lu recently returned to Los Angeles after their Fulbright Grant in Belo Horizonte, Brazil where they taught English at an LGBTQIA+ Center and researched dance pedagogy for their independent project. Lu also worked as an assistant to Middlebury College’s Study Abroad program in Salvador, Brazil and has led other student trips in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain. While living abroad Lu participated in various residencies, danced in companies, and was assistant choreographer for Truck do Desejo, an LBPT Carnaval group. Lu was also a member of Casa de Cosmos, a Brazilian Ballroom Kiki House in which they walked and studied New Way Vogue and Runway. Lu does live performance as two drag characters, “Starboy” and “Loverboy”, and the former was recently featured in KINGS, a documentary about drag kings in Brazil. Lu has a BA in Foreign Languages from Scripps College in Claremont, California, where they danced with Liz Lerman, Rosanna Tavarez and Kevin Williamson, among others. They are thrilled for this next chapter in LA and to be a part of the SGLA community!
